How Alchemy Was Born
Pilates found me in 2015, nearly a decade after a fall left me with a chipped vertebra. I had been in constant pain until Pilates changed my life. As I grew stronger, the muscles supporting my spine kept the bone fragment stable- virtually eliminating the pain. What began as rehabilitation became a passion that led me to teach in 2022.
After taking time to reflect this year, I returned to what truly brings me joy—helping people. I deepened my training in classical Pilates, explored Reiki and herbalism, and realized they all shared one purpose: helping people feel stronger, calmer, and more connected.
Why Quality Matters More Than Quantity
At Alchemy, I believe thoughtful movement and proper recovery create better results than simply doing more. My memberships are designed to encourage consistency, allowing your body the time it needs to recover, grow stronger, and enjoy life outside the studio.
Why We Choose Balance
Pilates is often recommended 2–3 times per week because it provides an ideal balance of challenge and recovery, this is where the science is for strength training. Yet many studios also offer unlimited memberships, which can leave people wondering whether more is always better.
At Alchemy, I don’t want people feeling like they need to come every day just to get their money’s worth. I’ve watched people exercise seven days a week only to wonder why they stopped feeling stronger. The answer is often simple: they never gave their bodies enough time to recover.
Recovery isn’t taking a step backward—it’s where your body adapts to the work you’ve done. That’s why I intentionally cap memberships at four classes per week. It’s enough to build strength, make consistent progress, and still give your body the recovery it needs to thrive. If you ever want to do more, you absolutely can—but I believe four is where most people will see their best long-term results.
Exercise creates the stimulus for change by placing stress on your muscles. Recovery is where your body repairs, adapts, and grows stronger. Without adequate recovery, progress can slow, fatigue can build, and muscle development may stall.
Just like anything else in life, more isn’t always better.
Consistency, quality, and moderation are what create lasting results—in Pilates and in life.
The Pilates Den
Where to begin?
If you are brand new to pilates, start with meet the reformer. That will cover all the basics in a small group (max 3) to introduce you to the reformer and the Alchemy Method. If you have done pilates on the reformer from another studio, you can opt for either meet the reformer or Origins. Origins is our all levels/beginner intermediate class that builds confidence through the fundamentals. Learn proper techniques, body awareness, and movement patterns in a supportive environment.
What to Expect
Small classes. Individual attention. No pressure to be perfect.
Relax. Pilates should be enjoyable.
This is your hour to move, breathe, laugh a little, and leave feeling better than when you walked in.
When we slow down and move with intention, our bodies can let go of tension instead of holding onto it.
Less stress. More strength. More you.
